******** NO RADIO TONIGHT - I'LL BE WORKING COLOR ON ESPN+ INSTEAD ********
In a broadcast change for tonight's match vs. East Texas A&M, I will be sliding over to help on the TV side and join up with Greg Higgins, play-by-play voice for ETAMU. Brittany Castledine and I met Greg last year in Commerce at the 2025 Southland Conference Tournament. Greg Higgins and Brittany were the ESPN+ broadcast crew for the entire tournament, while I handled other duties like interviews and writing match recaps.
Earlier in the week, I approached Greg about working together and at that time he told me that he was sick and may not be able to work the match. Some folks at ETAMU and I began working on a possible contingency plan where I would just slide over and handle the broadcast myself in place of Greg. But, yesterday, Higgins health improved and we revisited the idea of working together.
As full disclosure, I lost part of my own voice during the UTRGV match last Thursday and it really hasn't been as strong since, but I am chugging liquids and trying to take care of the vocal chords as much as possible for tonight! It should be a fun experience working with a new friend and broadcaster! I'm always thankful and excited for new situations with new folks that love volleyball. Watch the match on ESPN+ tonight and radio will resume per normal at our next road match
